Skaneateles, NY – Tessy Plastics Corp., a global leader in plastic injection molding and contract manufacturing, is proud to announce that it has been honored with the Plastics News, Sustained Excellence Award for 2025. This accolade underscores Tessy’s steadfast commitment to innovation, quality, and exceptional service over the past quarter-century, marking a significant milestone since being named Processor of the Year in 2000.

“We are a custom manufacturer, so we have always had to be on our game, satisfy our customers, and keep our employees happy. We just wanted to be the best company we can be. It’s neat to me that my father accepted the Processor of the Year Award in 2000, and now, nearly 25 years later, I have the honor of accepting the Sustained Excellence Award.” – Roland Beck, Owner & CEO of Tessy Plastics Corp.

Reflecting on Tessy in 2000

When Tessy won the Processor of the Year Award in 2000, the company was already emerging as a leader in the plastics industry. Under the ownership and leadership of Henry Beck, Tessy was generating close to $100 million in annual sales and had established itself as a global supplier with two plants in Central New York and two plants in Shanghai, China. At the time, Tessy’s operational footprint spanned 236,000 square feet total.

Tessy employed approximately 850 people worldwide, including 750 employees in Central New York and 100 in Shanghai, China. The company operated 100 injection molding presses in Central New York, establishing a solid foundation for its manufacturing capabilities.

In 2003, Roland Beck succeeded his father as President, and by 2004, Tessy had strategically pivoted its business model to focus on the production of high-precision medical products. This transformation marked the beginning of Tessy’s evolution into a vertically integrated contract manufacturer, redefining its role in the plastics industry.

“It’s amazing to see how far Tessy has come in the past 52 years. What started as a small vision has transformed into something truly extraordinary, and I couldn’t be more proud of my son, Roland and the Tessy team on this accomplishment. From the very beginning, the dedication to innovation, quality, and service has been the heart of Tessy, and that shows true to the prosperity of the company today. I am grateful to be part of the Tessy journey and look forward to the company’s continued success.” – Henry Beck, Founder of Tessy Plastics Corp.

Tessy in 2025: A Legacy of Excellence

Today, Tessy stands as a testament to the power of vision, adaptability, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Under the leadership of Roland Beck as Owner & CEO and Stafford Frearson as President, the company has achieved over $460 million in annual sales and expanded its global workforce to 1,800 employees.

Key milestones that highlight Tessy’s growth and transformation since 2000 include:

  • Employee Commitment: A significant number of Tessy employees have been with the company for over 25 years. The majority of the team has celebrated more than 5 years of service.
  • Facilities Expansion: Tessy now operates nine facilities in New York, totaling 3.2 million square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, with over 400 injection molding presses across these locations.
  • Global Reach: The company has maintained its presence in Shanghai, China, with two facilities, and has expanded operations with two more facilities in Pennsylvania. Tessy Tooling (custom tool manufacturer) and Tessy Automation (custom automation integrator) have both contributed to this expansive growth.

Our Contribution to COVID

Tessy played a critical role in combating the COVID-19 pandemic by partnering with one of the world’s leading medical companies to rapidly manufacture test kits. Leveraging its 438,000 sq. ft. facility and robust supplier network, Tessy quoted the project within 48 hours and transformed a warehouse into a high-speed production and distribution hub with on-site offices.

Despite pandemic challenges, the team worked 24/7, secured necessary permissions to deliver infrastructure, and consolidated all operations under one roof. Tessy achieved full production in just 15 weeks, manufacturing 10 million test kits per month while scaling operations to add a second production line.

Looking Ahead

As Tessy celebrates this prestigious honor, the company remains committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in manufacturing. With a strong foundation built on innovation, quality, and employee dedication, Tessy is poised to continue its legacy of excellence well into the future.

“We are very focused on the medical device industry, which we see as one of the most promising growth opportunities over the next 3 to 5 years. Moving beyond supplying sub-assemblies, our goal is to evolve into a full-service finished device assembler. We pride ourselves on the value add that we bring to our products—it’s not just about transforming plastic into components, but about the extra work and innovation we deliver to maximize value for our customers.” – Stafford Frearson, President of Tessy Plastics Corp.
