Quality Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with directing the quality management functions. This position must provide direction and leadership to the quality department, through identification and communication of expectations. The Quality Assurance Manager ensures all safety, quality, and operational policies and procedures are met while working collaboratively with all department managers. This position will work as a liaison with external parties as it relates to the Quality Managements Systems and may be required to act in the absence of the Director of Quality Assurance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensuring that the quality system requirements are effectively established, implemented and maintained and will report to the performance to management for review. Promote the awareness of regulatory and customer requirements throughout the organization.20E
2. Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at quality, productivity, compliance, and operational efficiency.20E
3. Must understand, evaluate, and communicate the importance of meeting customer expectations/requirements regarding materials, components, packaging, and non-product services.15E
4. Must investigate, identify and communicate issues, root cause(s), and assist in the identification of corrective actions.15E
5. Supporting a safe working environment meeting or exceeding OSHA standards.15E
6. Required to develop and implement initiatives aimed at improving the professional development of direct reports.5E
7. Must adhere to an open door policy to promote employee engagement and problem resolution.5E

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Requires a minimum of 10-years’ experience in quality environment.
  2. Minimum of 7-years’ experience direct supervision in quality department.
  3. Must have strong functional knowledge of recognized quality standards and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific, business and technical journals.
  5. Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  6. Must apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  7. Ability to work with word processing programs and spreadsheets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar degree

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Have the ability to lift, lower, and carry 1-10 lobs on an occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day)
  • Be able to seize, hold, pinch and grasp items typical of this job with good dexterity with both hands, such as tweezers, nippers and small cutting tools.
  • Have good eye-hand coordination
  • Be able to crawl, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend forward/sideways without aids/assistive devices on an occasional (up to 1/3 of your day) to frequent basis (up to half of your day).
  • Be able to push, pull, and reach with light to moderate force on an occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day)
  • Have the ability to work in a standing position on an occasional (up to 1/3 of your day) to frequent basis (up to half of your day). However, the duration may be up to the scheduled work hours. Sitting may be required by this job. They include color and shading discrimination, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Must possess sight and hearing senses of by the use of prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
  • Be able to adhere to all safety procedures and practices.
  • Be able to adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cCGMP) to efficiently complete assigned work while utilizing tools, computers, and safety devices.
