JOB SUMMARY:
The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all machine related maintenance (scheduled or unscheduled), the installation of new equipment, and the trouble shooting/repair of the molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
Available Shifts: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm
Starting Pay: $24 per hour
Locations: Auburn, NY
Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform general routine mechanical maintenance functions to ensure that machines are running at an optimal level | 25 | Essential |
2. Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed to minimize downtime | 20 | Essential |
3. Assist with the set-up and/or movement of machines and auxiliary equipment using PIV equipment as needed. | 10 | Non-Essential |
4. Respond to requests made by production departments to troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures and minimize downtime. | 30 | Essential |
5. Must be willing and available for “on-call” assignments as indicated by the Maintenance Manager and/or Management team. | 15 | Essential |

QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years of manufacturing/mechanical experience.
- Working knowledge in the following fields: mechanical, electrical and/or facilities maintenance.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Possess an attention for detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Basic computer experience/proficiency.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and SOP’s, as well as write routine correspondences, reports, and procedures.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to problem solve involving several variables in working situations.
- PIV (Power Industrial Vehicle) Certified or ability to become PIV certified.
- Participate in and successfully pass random/pre promotion or transfer drug testing due to safety sensitive nature of job requiring a power industrial vehicle permit.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six months IQMS experience
- Previous mechanical experience
- Previous production related training/certifications while at Tessy. For example, PIV certified

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This employee is exposed to:
- Extreme heat (not weather related) on a seldom basis (15 min. or less)
- Heavy vibration on a frequent basis (up to half of your day)
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts on a frequent basis (up to half of your day)
- Noise level intensity of moderate (manufacturing floor)
- May be required to work in a controlled environment requiring special garb (ex. coat, hair net, facial hair guard), gloves and prohibiting specific items on occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Have the ability to lift, lower and carry 11-25 lbs. on a frequent basis (up to half of your day) and 26-50 lbs. on an occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day).
- Have the ability to climb ladders, ropes or scaffolds on an occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day).
- Be able to seize, hold, pinch and grasp items typical of this job with good dexterity with both hands, such as tweezers, nippers and small cutting tools.
- Have good eye-hand coordination
- Be able to crawl, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend forward/sideways without aids/assistive devices on a frequent basis (up to half your day).
- Be able to push, pull and reach with light to moderate force on an occasional basis (up to 1/3 of your day).
- Have the ability to work in a standing position on a frequent basis (up to half of your day). However, the duration may be to the scheduled work hours. Sitting may be required on an occasional basis.
- Have specific vision abilities required by this job. They include color and shading discrimination, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Must possess sight and hearing senses or by the use of prosthetics that enable these senses or by the use of prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
- Be able to move body through different positions to allow safe maneuvering between boxes/bins/gaylords and tables to/from the machine.
- Be able to adhere to all safety procedures and practices.
- Be able to adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to efficiently complete assigned work while utilizing tools, computers, and safety devices.
